Westward American Single Malt Stout Cask Whiskey is a celebration of Oregons legendary brewing culture, this whiskey grew out of our longstanding cask-trading tradition among a select group of beer producers in the Northwest.For as long as they’ve been making whiskey, theyve traded our freshly-emptied barrels with some of their brewing friends in and around the Northwest, who have in turn seasoned them with Stout before returning them again.The Stout Cask Finish begins with our Westward American Single Malt, and is then aged for one year in Stout casks.

American Single Malt Commission: Made from 100% malted barley. Westward Way: Two row barley grown and malted in the Northwest.

At Westward, there are no shortcuts, and therein lies the beauty. We pursue perfection by creating flavor in every step of our long, slow process.Brewing.
We begin by brewing an artisanal American Ale from scratch, using locally malted barley, ale yeast, and a slow, low temperature fermentation.

Distillation.
We distill twice in custom low-reflux pot stills that we designed to create a robust spirit, and transform our fresh, flavorful Ale into whiskey.

Maturation.
We mature to perfection in new, lightly charred American Oak barrels selected to accentuate the bold characteristics of our whiskey.

Mingling.
We mingle our barrels in small batches to achieve Westwards signature flavor profile balanced and bold. – Our Story Westward Whiskey
