The Via La Ronciere Licantn Merlot is a mellow and complex red wine made from slow-ripening grapes located by the sea in the Licantn D.O.; one of only four new DOs recognised in 2018, for its unique terroir. Via La Ronciere is the only producer in this sub-region of the Curic Valley. They grow the grapes for this wine at Idahue Estate, where they combine traditional methods with precision techniques to produce fresh, coastal and terroir-driven red wines. Matured for 10 months in French oak the Licantn Merlot displays an intense concentration of fruit, with aromas of blackberries and spice. The palate is generous and deep, with a perfect acid balance and structure. It has a graceful, lengthy finish.
