Tasting Note

This is a single vineyard Furmint from winemaker Sarolta Brdos. Using fruit solely from the stony and organically-farmed Rny vineyard, this wine is the purest expression of Furmint in Bardos’ range. The vines here are around 50-60 years old and offer excellent concentration, albeit low yields. Aromas of pear, white peach and stones show freshness, while the palate is sensual, layered and brimming with peaches and red apples. The finish is long and lively with refreshing acidity. This is a must-try Furmint if you like white Burgundy.

Nobiliswinery was founded in the 19th century at anaffluent farmhouse. The housenow has a traditional cellar where wines are aged in barrels and bottles. For Nobilis, winemaking starts in the vineyard, as the quality of the wine is fundamentally determined by the quality of the grapes, so they apply strict pruning, shoot and cluster selection. With an extremely low yield, very concentrated fruits with a high must grade can be harvested. During harvesting and processing, they take great care to process the grapes in the most gentle way and transfer all the virtues of the fruit to the wine. During winemaking, no extraneous substances are used, wines are created with the least intervention.

This wine was born from the Rny vineyard in Olaszliszka. The harvest comes from the 50-60-year-old vines of a well-groomed, old plantation. Evenly ripened bunches were harvested in mid-September.Its acids are fresh, lively, vigorous wine. Its acid composition differs from other Tokaj Nobilis wines due to the different vineyards.
