94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot, 1% Malbec, aged for 20 months in new French oak barriques. 2021 was considered ‘idyllic’ by Shafer, and it has produced a wine with intense aromas of cassis, plum, and black cherry with a stony/earthy mineral coolness, Provenal herbs, and a little pine. Full-bodied, very finely structured with plentiful silky tannins, and the whole feels very pure and neatly balanced. No waiting for this to come together but it will have a long life ahead. 0-20 years
