Robert Oatley Vineyards is the latest venture of the Oatley family winemaking dynasty, which was founded by the late industry legend Bob Oatley. His legacy continues in his eldest son Sandy, who worked alongside his father for many years and manages the business today.

Created in 2006, Robert Oatley Vineyards aims to embody the best that Australia can produce where classic grape varieties are matched to the leading wine regions of Australia. Along with grapes from the family properties, some dating back to 1858, the Oatley family draw upon select growers of excellence across a diverse range of climatic regions. A deep understanding of viticulture enables the team to identify the best vineyard sites in Australia.

The talented winemaking team is led by Larry Cherubino one of Australias most awarded winemakers.

VIneyards

Climatically Australia’s most reliable wine region, not to mention one of its best known, Margaret River is the ideal home for the Bordeaux varietals.

Vinification

Grapes are fermented then matured for twelve to fifteen months in French oak from a variety of coopers.

Tasting Notes

A full flavoured yet finely structured Cabernet of great appeal: black berries, dried leaves and fine gravelly tannin.

Drink with beef steak with black pepper sauce or lamb shank.
