Robert Oatley Vineyards is the latest venture of the Oatley family winemaking dynasty, which was founded by the late industry legend Bob Oatley. His legacy continues in his eldest son Sandy, who worked alongside his father for many years and manages the business today.

Created in 2006, Robert Oatley Vineyards aims to embody the best that Australia can produce where classic grape varieties are matched to the leading wine regions of Australia. Along with grapes from the family properties, some dating back to 1858, the Oatley family draw upon select growers of excellence across a diverse range of climatic regions. A deep understanding of viticulture enables the team to identify the best vineyard sites in Australia.

The talented winemaking team is led by Larry Cherubino one of Australias most awarded winemakers.

Vineyards

Produced from grapes grown in the southern end of McLaren Vale.

Vinification

94.9% Grenache, 3.2% Shiraz, 1.9% Riesling

Grapes were fermented on skins in a combination of open and closed fermenters then matured for a short period in tank prior to bottling. This is an unwooded red wine, similar in weight and body to a young pinot noir or Joven Rioja.

Vibrant, perfumed Grenache with classic raspberry, musk and earthy notes. Try serving lightly chilled.

A lovely alternative to white or ros for summer aperitif. Drink alongside salads or lighter pasta dishes.
