South Africa is one of the most scenic and beautiful places in the world and they happen to make exceptional wine atthe same time. Thats what drew Englishman Alex Dale to the country years ago. Before he settled in to his own winery, Alex assisted in guest vintages around the world. When he was invited to South Africa, he couldnt resist. Immediately, Alex fell in love.

However, apartheid was still in place in South Africa and Alex couldnt ethically make that move and feel good about making wine in the country. However, the moment apartheid fell, Alex committed to moving and helping the countrys wine industry rebuild.

He did a magnificent job, helping lead the industry back into prominence with his ultra premium Radford Dale label. His Syrah is an exceptional example of just how fantastic his wines can be. The Syrah leans towards an Old World, French style, indicating Alexs background in Burgundian wines. Ripe, dark fruits lead on the palate with hints of spice providing an excellent balance. Stunning.
