From the heart of North Canterbury’s Waipara Valley, Pegasus Bay is the result of over four decades of passion and expertise from the Donaldson family. Grown on north-facing terraces, with old, low-yielding vines planted in Glasnevin Gravels, this wine reflects the character of its unique terroir.

The 2021 vintage is deep ruby in colour, with an expressive nose of boysenberry, black cherry, cocoa, and subtle savoury notes of truffle, spice and leather. Traditional Burgundian techniques, including whole bunch fermentation and aging in French oak, lend to a rich, supple palate with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, elegant finish.

This is a layered and harmonious Pinot Noir with both power and finesse, drinking beautifully now. Pair with roasted duck breast in a spiced plum sauce.
