Palo Cortado is one of the lesser known sherry styles. In character it lies inbetween an Amontillado and an Oloroso.

This is from Lustau’s Almacenista range and made at Cayetano del Pino. It has a dark amber colour with aromas of leather and tobacco. This is a dry sherry and it is wonderfully complex. On the palate there is a multilayered range of flavours including coffee, spice and dark chocolate.

Serve with tapas or with mixednuts as an aperitif.
