An Italiandigestivo, Fernet-Branca is was created in 1845. It’s made from 27 different herbs, the exact recipe is known only to the owner Nicolo Branca who is said to personally measure out the ingredients and aromatics during the production process in the distillery in Milan and it is then aged in oak for a year.

Originally, Fernet Branca was promoted as an aid to digestion, to be consumed after a meal to help with over-eating. Today this iconic after dinner drink is consumed world wide, and is also a component of some fabulous cocktails.

The flavour is overwhelmingly bitter, medicinal and herbal, dark and oily – its popularity endures and its especially popular in Argentina where 75% of the entire production is consumed.
