Nestled in the rugged beauty of Bannockburn, Felton Road has become the undisputed benchmark for New Zealand Pinot Noir, and one of the leading lights in biodynamic fine wine production anywhere in the world.
The entire production is estate grown, across four distinct vineyards: The Elms, Cornish Point (7.6ha), Calvert (4.6ha), and MacMuir (5.1ha), each farmed organically and biodynamically. Every vine is tended by hand, and every wine is crafted with minimal intervention, gravity flow, wild ferments, no fining or filtration. Their Pinot Noirs have gained a cult following for their balance of perfume, elegance, and age worthy structure.
Red cherry, plum and a hint of dried herbs open the nose in a delightfully fragrant manner. The aromatics deftly define the knife edge ripeness thats critical for great Pinot Noir; dialled in with ease in the exceptional 2024 vintage. Cardamom, mace and cranberry make an appearance, followed by a finely poised mouthfeel. The silky tannins are luscious and sweet, providing backbone and length. A typically expressive Cornish Point.
