Del Maguey Espadn, Arroqueo & Mexicano San Jose Rio Minas Mezcal 750mL
Mezcal | 47% ABV (94 Proof) | 750 mL
Crafted in the remote Oaxacan village of San Jose Rio Minas, this mezcal is a small-batch ensemble blend of three agave varieties: Espadn, Arroqueo, and Mexicano. Each agave type is harvested at peak maturity, roasted in earthen pit ovens fueled by wood, stone-milled (tahona) to release the sweet fibers, and naturally fermented in open-air wooden vats using wild yeasts. The spirit is then double-distilled in copper alembic stills. The combination of agave species produces a layered, balanced profile that reflects the terroir of the high-altitude, mineral-rich region.
Nose: Sweet roasted agave, tropical fruit, cocoa, and light floral notes
Palate: Rich caramelized agave, ripe mango, fresh herbs, cacao, and a hint of spice
Finish: Long, earthy, and slightly smoky with a sweet, fruity aftertaste
Unique blend of three distinct agave species: Espadn, Arroqueo, and Mexicano
Produced in one of Oaxacas most remote mezcal-producing communities
Traditional production with pit roasting, tahona milling, and natural fermentation
Limited-release bottling from Del Magueys Single Village series
Captures both the fruitiness of Mexicano and Arroqueo with the structure of Espadn
Best savored neat in a copita or veladora glass to fully appreciate its complexity. Works exceptionally well as a celebratory pour for mezcal enthusiasts or in a premium mezcal cocktail that allows the blends layered flavors to shine.
