This Summer 2012 batch of Daftmill was released on 21st July 2025, with only 5250 bottles available.
“The barley variety Concerto was grown in the South fields and harvested on the 2nd & 3rd of September 2011. It was then dried an stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the spring of 2012.
The twenty-three first-fill barrels in this release, which had previously been used to mature bourbon, were matured on the upper level of our dunnage warehouse. They were filled into cask in July and August of 2012 and bottled in June 2025.”
Daftmill is a farm distillery. Owned and operated by the Cuthbert family, it only runs in the farms quiet periods; midsummer and winter, sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. When not distilling, Francis Cuthbert looks after the estate, growing the malting barley used to make this Lowland whisky.
