Garnacha, Carignan

75cl * 15.5% ABV * Priorat, Spain

Creu Celta comes from Salanques, one of the coolest climats in Priorat. Rich, complex and full bodied, opulent dark spicy fruit flavours are lifted by a fresh finish. Made from 95% Garnatxa (Garnacha) and 5% Samso (Carignan). After winter and spring rainfalls there was a dry summer resulting in ripe dark fruits but with an excellent freshness. Production was meagre but this is seriously concentrated, with Garnacha at its optimum in this vintage. The wine has classic structure and impressive length. Heady fruit, spice & velvety tannins abound. Redolent of top Chteauneuf du Pape.

Lovely chocolate, cherry, plum, pine and smoky nuances and the finish is rich, complex and satisfying. Ideal for steak, slow-cooked meat dishes, hard cheeses, or anything full-flavoured and gutsy.
