Neighbour to Mouton Rothschild, Pontet-Canet was the Left Banks first fully biodynamic exponent, with the heavy work done by horse, a practice near unique in Bordeaux; certainly for any estate of its size and stature. It was also one of the first to embrace ageing partially in amphorae as well as oak. Clearly the results are paying dividends and the 2023 is the finest release from the estate in well over a decade.
