As passionate botanist, Henri Ducourt knew how to scout out the finest terroir in Entre-Deux-Mers. In 1965, he therefore began to buy plots of vines near to the village of Romagne on a remarkable clay-limestone plateau. Over the years he built up a great estate between A La Rose and le Pin de Cornet, which has now become Chteau La Rose du Pin.

Vineyards

The vineyard area covers 6 hectares on theLoamy-clay soils of Entre-Deux-Mers.

Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon vines are planted in theGuyot method, pruning, de-budding, thinning out leaves, green harvest, & sustainable agriculture is practiced in the vineyard.

Vinification

Machine harvesting takes place in the cool, early morning. The grapes undergoSkin-contact maceration for several hours, depending on ripeness followed by pressing. THe fermentation begins cold (12C) then there is an increase in temperature to finish the fermentation at 20C. Ageing on lees in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats.

Tasting Notes

A well balanced wine, bursting with juicy lime and lemon fruits with bees wax. There are herbaceous notes with hints of fennel and elderflower and green apple crispness. The finish is long and aromatic.

This is a brilliant option for summer picnics or simply as an aperitif.
