Florence and Ren-Henri both come from wine-making families in the Minervois. What makes them stand out is the way they don’t only produce the wonderful intense red wines the region is best known for, but also succeed in producing modern more technical wines. The Viognier is a triumph – made to be fresh and elegant even in this warm part of France. The ros is superb. The Minervois Les Eolides and La Liviniere are great exemples of Minervois at ils best. The Petit Verdot takes these traditional skills and applies them with a twist to grape better known in Bordeaux.
Vinification
70% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre, 10% Gtenache from a south facing vineyard.
Tasting Notes
Very beautiful and complex, this wine speaks of garrigue and candied fruits, the nose evoking blueberry tart. The very well-balanced palate expresses itself with spice, rosemary and cistus with a touch of mocha and tonka bean.
This aromatic depth is evident on the palate with a beautiful panache, framed by present tannins and tonic acidity, all well integrated. The finish leaves a tasty and velvety impression.
This is cassoulet’s best friend!
