This plush, opulent Merlot from Chateau Carignan punches well above its weight. Made from select parcels of old-vine fruit, the wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months.The result is something very much Pomerol-esque in style, with fleshy, juicy dark fruits, liquorice, mocha, earthy spice and vanilla. Pair with a crown roast of pork.
