Tasting Note

Fabulous example of a Chateauneuf du Pape red wine that is already drinking well. On the nose you are greeted with a nose of spices, black pepper, lavender, black cherries and blackberries typical of its terroir. Elegant and powerful on the palate, with a distinctive velvetytextureshowing red fruits andcomplex notes of garrigue herbs. This cuve is a pleasure to drink and willhas enough structure to last for several more years in the cellar, where it will develop more savoury truffle notes as the fruits mellows. If you can resist it.

Since 1880, five generations of the Brotte family have been making wines with passion and authenticity. They produce a wide range of delicious wines reds, whites and ross for a variety of different drinking occasions and has a presence in more than 100 countries globally.

Sustainable viticulture, de-budding, de-leafing and green harvesting are used to limit the yield and increase the quality. Hand-picking into small cases and fast transportation to the winery to avoid berries crushing and oxidation. Destemming, gentle crushing. Fermentation at 28C, followed by a 3 week maceration.

The tannic Grenache, Syrah and Mourvdre are aged in French oak barrels (1/3 new, 1/3 one wine, 1/3 two wines), while the softer Grenache is matured in concrete vats and 100 year old oak vats to preserve the fruit.
