The Arran Distillery is situated in Lochranza village on the North side of the beautiful Isle of Arran. In Scotch terms this is a young distillery with production starting on 17th August 1995. The area is home to some of the purest water in all of Scotland, every drop of Arran Single Malt starts its life as rainwater which pools at Loch na Davie in the beautiful hills behind the distillery.

The purity of the water means that Arran can create a clean, sweet dram which is entirely natural and unadulterated. They never add caramel colouring or strip flavour out through chill filtration.

Arran enjoys a warm microclimate, the atmosphere of sea breezes and clear mountain air, together with the warm flow of the Gulf Stream is ideal for the speedy maturation of single malts.

Remnant Renegade – Signature Series Edition 1

This edition, hand selected by Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman, is a selection of Arran Single Malts which showcase the diversity of our spirit and the values which are important to us.

Remnant Renegade is the first bottling of this edition. It is a marriage of a selection of remnant casks – Ex-Sherry Hogsheads, Ex-Sherry Butts and Ex-Bourbon Barrels from across the Arran portfolio between as early as only a couple of years after we started distilling to as recently as 2017. Specially selected and blended by Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman bearing his seal of approval. Distilled and matured at Lochranza.

The series begins with Edition 1 at 46% Vol, and as always non-chill filtered and with no added colouring. We are very excited to embark upon a brand new series! For us, the series represents something important to us – looking at the quality of the whisky in your glass and focussing on investing in your own whisky enjoyment. Our aim to provide you with an interesting complex whisky with quality over quantity.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Toffee apples, vanilla, cinnamon spice, really clean and prominent orange blossom notes, star anise.

Palate: Silky smooth and balanced, light liquorice, menthol herbs, honey.

Finish:Classic Arran tingling sensation lingers on the tongue.
