Solengo is the Super-Tuscan red wine of Montalcino and the legacy of the world-famous oenologist, Giacomo Tachis, for the Argiano estate. Solengo is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Sangiovese grapes sourced from vines that range in age from 15 to 22 years old. The varietals are fermented separately, with maceration and malolactic fermentation undertaken in cement tanks. The assembled wine is then aged for 18 months in French barriques, specially made for this wine, 60% of which are new and 40% second use.Solengo is a balanced and harmonious red winewith aromas of spice and berries.
