Arak is a clear spirit from the Levant that is flavoured with anise. Across the world it is known under various names such as raki in Turkey and ouzo in Greece, although the base spirit can vary slightly, depending on where in the world it is made. The Arak el Massaya is produced exclusively from white Obedi grapes (a native to Lebanon varietal) and green organic aniseed. Triple-distilled in a traditional process using copper stills heated by fragrant fires of vine wood. It is matured in ancient clay jars (amphorae) for an average of 2 years.
