A rare New Zealand Tempranillo, this organic, small-batch wine is a bold yet elegant expression of the grape. “A serious and complex take on Tempranillothink Rioja Reserva meets Marlborough finesse. Full-bodied yet vibrant, this is one to savour.”
Established in 1994 by Swiss expats Hans and Therese Herzog this is an artisan family winery acclaimed for growing handcrafted wines from their exceptional ‘Grand Cru’ organic vineyard in Marlborough. All the Hans Herzog grapes are 100% grown on their organic vineyard at one of Marlborough’s best sites, handpicked, produced and bottled on the estate.
Hans Herzogs non-interventional winemaking philosophy shines through in this wine. Hand-harvested from low-yielding organic vines, the grapes undergo wild fermentation before spending 36 months in French oak barriques, achieving a Reserva-level depth and richness. With just 1,573 bottles produced, this is a rare and sought-after vintage.
