Tucked away in the majestic Italian Dolomites, Agricola Foradori stands as a beacon of biodynamic winemaking in a region long dominated by conventional practices and large cooperatives. Since 2009, the estate has held Demeter certification, continuing a tradition of winemaking that began on the farm in the 1930s. Under the pioneering leadership of Elisabetta Foradori from 1984, the estate carved a path rooted in respect for the land, culture, and natural rhythms. Now led by her children Emilio, Theo, and Myrtha, the 30-hectare estate continues to evolve with renewed energy and vision. Emilio and Theo oversee winemaking and communication, while Myrtha tends the vineyards and manages a vibrant herb and vegetable programme, often grown beneath the pergolas in Mezzolombardo.
Their approach to winemaking is patient and precise, across the range, including Nosiola, Fuoripista, and the single-vineyard Teroldegos Sgarzon and Morei, the wines spend 89 months on their skins and age in clay tinajas, vessels central to Foradoris philosophy. While Manzoni Bianco and the classic Foradori Teroldego offer freshness and approachability, Granato remains the estates flagship, crafted from their finest fruit, it represents the culmination of their work and the purest expression of Teroldego. As Theo puts it, the future of Foradori lies not only in winemaking but in fostering a thriving ecosystem of creativity and meaning, where wine is just one part of a deeper agricultural and cultural vision.
