Alfredo Arribas a multidisciplinary architect, has developed most of his renowned international career in multiple world locations. Recently, more of his works have taken place in his birth town, Barcelona.
In 2001, Alfredo started his adventure in the wine world, after acquiring the estate Clos del Portal, in Priorat, where he centres his activity. In parallel, he develops a recovery task of a bunch of old vines Trossos in the neighbour Montsant appelation.

Perfectionist and empirical at the same time, Alfredo associates elaboration to creativity. Bringing forth vinifications with substantial notes and accents, he proposes sensible Priorats.
The respect and curiosity for different origins and terroirs creates in his work the proliferation of references, itineraries through the territory, with the explicit duality between search/discovery in the spectrum of his wines.

Vineyards

InStabiles are free wines, they resign to vintage continuity and in particular to that of their origins. They are exercises based in the art of assemblage, bringing together the purest cellar work Wine Craftmanship.

Sourced from 30-40 year old vines grown at between 450-500 metres above sea level.

Vinification

Expressing grenache in its pure form, a respectful approach to the original fruit. Half of the wine in whole cluster maceration and the other half is destemmed. Spontaneous fermentation in separate pieces. Ageing 50% in ceramic eggs of diverse formats and 50% in stainless steel. A game of balances among subtlety and mineral strength and the conjunction of two or three tiny fermentations.

Tasting Notes

Wow, this wine is super sexy, vibrant, and fun! Juicy raspberries and cherry but with a glorious mineral edge. Soft, juicy tannins making this wine is easy drinking and utterly delicious.

The minerality makes this great with steak tartare and all the trimmings. Priorat always works with squash or sweet potato too.
