While its a long trek up to Begadan in northern Medoc we always get the warmest welcome from cousins Frederic and Benjamin. This Tanners favourite is a very attractive wine in 2023; well textured and smooth with the fresh plummy character of the best Medocs on display, a beautiful claret for the mid-term while the characteristic freshness of the vintage makes it sing in the glass. Delicious. An excellent La Tour de By with fresh aromas and plenty of black fruit on the palate backed up with soft and ripe tannins. There is good fresh acidity too with great length. This is very attractive wine that will drink young but also has the potential to age.
