A beautiful Saumur Chenin Blanc, with 30% of the juice fermented in barrel to add texture and richness, pairing with the elegant acidity native to the Chenin Blanc grape. This wine has intense aromas of apple, peach and melon with a freshing minerality on the palate.
Producer
The estate has been making wine since 1577 and is now run by Jean-Pierre Chevallier, a 4th generation winemaker who used to teach oenology at Bordeaux University before returning to his familys stunning property.
The Chteau has 25 hectares of chalky soils all surrounding the Chteau overlooking the Loire. There are 5 hectares of Chenin. The rest is Cabernet Franc. TheSaumur Blancis 30% barrel fermented.
