This Super Tuscan – so-called because it blends indigenous Tuscan grapes with locally grown international varieties – combines the soft richness of Merlot and Syrah with the vibrancy of Sangiovese. But, unlike the Piedmontese reds in the Gaja range, which benefit from extended cellaring, Promis is more than approachable in youth; juicy and sappy, with creamy, firm tannins and fresh berries to the finish.
