On Saturday evening, December 6, 1845, Louis Manigault, Stephen Ormsby Rhea and Horace Spangler Weiser met in Manigaults room at 59 Chapel Street on the campus of Yale. During the meeting, Louis outlined to Rhea and Weiser his plans for the society. On that long remembered and celebrated night, December 6, 1845, Manigault, Rhea, and Weiser committed themselves to the establishment and perpetuation of Alpha Sigma Phi.
