Wine grapes have been growing in Chile for well over a century, since the first cultivars were brought over from France. The Mediterranean-like coastal breezes and slightly cooler climate has led to the production of Malbecs that are fresher, more aromatic and more elegant and refined than their French and Argentinian counterparts. Machitun Malbec is a stunning deep, dark red in color and has aromas of dark, ripe fruits and earthy florals. The palate is filled with dense fruit flavors of blueberry and blackberry with mild spices. The finish is smooth with balanced acids and tannins. We recommend pairing with strong cheeses (like blue or gorgonzola) or herbaceous dishes with lots of rosemary, sage or mint.
