Gosset Grand Millsime 2012 is assembled with 67% Chardonnay and 33% Pinot Noir. Gosset’s house style is evident, with the base wines being vinified and aged on lees. As ever with this house, malolactic conversion was avoided, and the Champagne was rested in their cellars for 5 years before being disgorged. The result is Champagne with pristine, elegant fruit, and a soft, almost pillowy texture. Dosage was 8g/l, just enough to balance the keen acidity and allow the fruit to shine: a panoply of pink grapefruit, blood orange, peach, mirabelle plum and damson.
