This part of Montalcino is notoriously warm, so in a (comparatively speaking) cooler vintage like 2018 there is added delicacy and elegance to the otherwise powerful, typical Sangiovese character of the wine.
We are increasingly of the opinion that Montalcino remains the last classic fine wine region to offer real value and this, one of the best editions from one its greatest winemakers, is a brilliant example that should be in every cellar.
