Cos is a grand chteau in Saint-Estphe that sits just across the stream from Lafite in Pauillac (which is probably number one in the Mdoc.) We liked the pure and fresh black fruit character, a bit of fresh raspberry behind. The structure is good, the tannins fine and the oak gives a wash of finesse in the finish. This has real precision and purity with good minerality.
