The Franconian family Frst can document their history as winegrowers back to 1638.Located in the westernmost part of Franken, along the Main RivertheFrstwinery lies nestled in the heart of their Centgrafenberg vineyard with a magnificent view of the medieval half-timbered village of Miltenberg. On a steep (40% incline) south-facing slope, interspersed with drystone walls, the best grapes come from the steep terraced plot of the Centgrafenberg, considered the grand cru vineyard, which dates back to the Archbishops of Mainz in the 16th century.

Triassic soils of iron-rich red sandstone, created 250 million years ago when Franken was close to the equator and the climate was almost desert-like, offersFrstwines aunique character. Different to the Rieslings that grow in the predominantly shale limestone of the rest of the Franken region, this Riesling displays the typical pure, crystalline minerality derived from red sandstone. Terrific when paired with simple clean fish, chicken or pasta dishes, avoid anything with strong flavours or tomato based.
